Embrace Your Authentic Self: Transformative Therapy for Personal Growth and Wellbeing

Hey there!

Are you ready to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and personal growth? If so, you've come to the right place. I'm Hillary Rose Olson, an associate therapist at Decatur Psychotherapy in downtown Decatur, Georgia, and I’m so excited to announce my practice. I'm passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges, embrace their true selves, and cultivate a fulfilling and authentic life. As a recent graduate of the Master of Social Work program at the University of Georgia, I bring evidence-based and trauma-informed training to my practice. I completed my clinical internship at The Banyan Tree in Athens, Georgia, where I saw clients throughout my final year of study. I am currently seeking licensure as an LMSW as well as training in EMDR. Keep an eye on this space for announcements surrounding offerings in EMDR and group therapy.

I’m especially excited to work with young adults and adults experiencing anxiety, life transitions, questions surrounding identity and purpose, attachment challenges, and work surrounding personal growth. I embrace those with nontraditional paths like myself, and always strive to make clients feel safe and heard.

Appointments are available for folks living in Georgia both in-person in the office and virtually via telehealth/teletherapy.

A Holistic and Inclusive Approach:

In my practice and personal life, I prioritize inclusivity and value social justice. Therapy sessions with me offer a safe space for individuals from all walks of life, including the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe in honoring and celebrating diverse identities and experiences and my space is affirming, sex-positive, body-positive, kink and polyamory affirming, and anti-racist. As an associate therapist, I am dedicated to providing trauma-informed care that considers the impact of complex past experiences on your well-being. As a clinical social worker, I’m committed to promoting social justice and advocating for your rights both in and outside of the therapy space.

Transformative Therapy for Personal Growth:

Together, we will embark on a collaborative and transformative process focused on personal growth, resilience, and overall wellbeing. Whether you're facing anxiety, navigating life's transitions, or feeling lost, therapy can provide valuable tools and insights to help you thrive. Our sessions will delve into areas such as stress management, relationships, self-exploration, and finding purpose.

Uncover Your Authentic Self:

Through our work together, I will help you uncover your authentic self and explore the aspects that contribute to your personal growth. We will navigate the challenges that arise during life's transitions, offering support and guidance along the way. I bring a range of skills and expertise to help you build resilience, heal from past traumas, and cultivate a fulfilling life.

Values Rooted in Social Justice:

I understand the importance of social justice in mental health. My therapy approach is informed by a commitment to equity, inclusivity, and dismantling oppressive systems. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and respected. As a clinical social worker, I view folks as entire beings living and operating within systems that impact all aspects of life - including relationships, families, communities, cultures, and so on.

About my journey:

I began experiencing mental health struggles in my early teenage years and personally have found healing and grounding through various personal growth initiatives, inclusive of therapy, yoga, self-inquiry, and with the support of my community. Formerly, I had a career in the hospitality industry, where I experienced physical illnesses and persistent depression and anxiety related to burnout and perfectionism. My passion for helping others heal from their own struggles lead me to social work.

When I’m not with clients, I enjoy spending time with my community, practicing yoga, hiking, cooking, and reading. A few fun facts about me are that I once drove from Georgia to Alaska, I worked at the renaissance festival as a teenager, and I have lived in Australia.

Take the First Step:

If you're ready to embark on a transformative therapy journey that embraces personal growth and well-being, I invite you to reach out today. Together, we will navigate the challenges you're facing, explore your true self, and develop the skills needed to create a more fulfilling life. Let's work together to cultivate resilience, embrace your values, and foster a sense of authenticity. Your journey to self-discovery begins now.
